As bobby says trs. Shove, other player calls, then comes the run-it-twice option.
I'm reluctant to shove draws because people don't tend to lay hands down and you're usually at least a slight dog to hit (when they call). |

Back to basics...

Ok, so I've had a completely awful run (and played badly = titled) since February now, about 5 months. So, I figured it's time to do something about it. This thread is part of that.
Another is that I've gone back to playing 1c/2c because I simply can't beat anything else right now. Infact, I can barely beat that level right now. I'm back down below $900 again on my main account, showing a profit for the year on it of about $50.
This thread is going to contain hands where I hadn't ... |

Making mistakes

Another part of me trying to find some game again is by noting mistakes (or what I think are mistakes) and doing something about them.
Here is where I'm going to post these hands.
There are 3 or 4 limpers, the button mini-raises, Hero has 3s2s in the SB and calls. Everybody who limped also calls. The flop is a dreamy K32 rainbow. I checked :-(
What do I do here and why? What should I not do, and why? |

Stack sizes would be between 100-200bbs. They allow a max buy-in of 200bbs on the micro stakes tables now = anything below, but not including, $10NL.
I accept folding is probably a better idea, but I don't seem to be making a lot out of my big hands at the moment. That can't all be put down to coolers and bad beats. Clearly, I need to giving action to get action. So, I'm thinking if I see a few more cheap flops I'm more likely to get paid off. Maybe I'm thinking too highly for ... |

Ok, thanks for that guys. It seems we have conflicting views - call, fold and shove.
I don't like shoving, it seems like I can only run into a big hand here - I'm thinking AA/KK/QQ/JJ/AKs/AKo, maybe AQs/TT, but I can't seriously give the villain a bigger range without knowing more about them.
I don't like folding, it seems weak given we've only got to call 8bbs to win a pot that currently has 21+13+6+1(sb) = 41bbs. I'm getting 5:1 here! I know that's still not good if his range ... |

I may be missing something here (forgive me if I am), but if we're only 43/57 *and* the villain is definitely calling our shove (which I say he is), then surely it's a fold rather than a shove?
Or, are you factoring in some fold equity PS?
I don't see how it's a profitable play to shove when we're 43/57 - that's more like 4/6 than a flip if you want to be pedantic/technical about the numbers.
Remember, my comment about him seeming active since then was information I had ... |

| I agree that betting would probably be preferable to checking because of how vulnerable B2P can be and also that it'll keep weaker hands in. In this situation, with so many people in, I didn't want to keep too many people in. I wanted to thin the field on the flop, which is why I was going for a juicy check-raise, rather than donk-leading and getting a cascade of calls. I agree regarding what a mini-raise could mean, but this probably stems from pub poker where the mini-raise is almost a hand ... |

I couldn't win a thing at higher levels, so that's why I went right back to the start. My usual level had been $10NL (90ish BI's), with attempts at $25NL (36ish BI's). I know it seems kinda of crazy playing that low a level, but I just wanted to win some pots and rebuild some confidence with my poker.
The profit of $50 was nothing compared to the previous year, nothing compared to my roll, nothing compared to what I hoped to achieve, nothing compared to what I could earn if I went for ... |
