I believe the sad truth is that poker can be just as frustrating as it is enjoyable. I have experienced the same type of runs as you describe, and I believe it to just be part of the swings. Just keep reviewing your game and making sure your play isn't the cause of the bad outcomes.
If you are able to keep your aggression in check (as i sometimes lose control of mine) give short handed tables a try. Alot less suck outs there, and your monster hand still tend to get paid off nicely, ... |

I usually almost always raise jacks from any position in order to protect them.
I had only been at that table a for a few hands and had no read yet on the player.
Now that i think about it, I agree that folding here (to the RR PF) is the best play.
I need to relax with my jacks in the future, I think they are my most costly hand in recent months.
Thanks for the input guys! |

When I say "protecting" I mean keeping another player behind me from limping with A4s and hitting his Ace on the flop. Of course I'm expecting something like Ak to call me, so this seems illogical at first. However, more than just the A4s would have been limping (in most pots anyway)...KT, QK, AT...
In getting heads up with my Jacks, limiting the limpers, I'm protecting them. Now obviously this concept can only go so far and remain profitable...I'm not going to raise UTG with 66 and ... |

| stacks were not deep at all, we each had about the standard $50 max buy-in. I agree 99-22 would not make tht raise, this is why I knew I was beat here. Although I guess that preflop raise should have told me tht lol. |

I was too late to get the history, but here are some details:
Hollywood .25-.50NL, I limp in middle position with QKo, there are two limpers ahead of me and one behind me.
The flop comes K 7 5 rainbow and is checked to be, i bet $1.5 into the $2 pot, only the seat behind me calls.
Turn is a Q, i bet $3 and get mini raised. I re-raise , he raises back, and i push him all in for his last $5. The final pot is $61
I figured to see 55 or 77, but I wasnt laying down ... |

| I cleared one a long time ago, and that was after I had left the account for a few months. So unless they have changed I do not believe there is a limit. |
