We get a lot of questions regarding our rake rebate program, and have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions that we receive here.
What is rake anyway?
Rake is basically how poker rooms make money. Each time a pot reaches pre determined levels, the poker room will take a portion of that pot for themselves. Depending on the limit being played, the rake can range from $.05-$3.00 per hand.
I've already signed up at [insert poker room here], can I get a rake rebate?
Usually, no. However, many times we can offer you a rakeback deal at a “skin” of the poker room you're currently playing at, or at another very reputable site.
What is a “skin“?
A skin is a basically a member of a poker network (a group of poker rooms that share players and tables). For example, the Party Poker network skins include: Empire Poker, Eurobet, Multi Poker, PokerNow and Intertops. Ring game players and single table tournament players are all shared across the network. Where you'll notice a difference between skins is the software, freerolls offered, and multi-table tournaments. Most networks will allow you to sign up under all skins regardless of the number of rooms on the network you are already signed up for - however, you may have have to jump through a couple of hoops to do so.
Am I still eligible for signup and reload bonuses?
Yep, you are...but keep in mind that at skins of Party Poker, if you take advantage of these, your rake numbers for the month will be adversely affected because they deduct your bonus from your rake totals for the month.
Do the bonuses affect my rake rebate? How?
At most sites, bonuses are deducted from the gross rake. So if you generated $1000 gross rake, and cleared a $100 bonus, your “net“ would be $900. If you are earning a 25% rebate, you would earn $900 x .25 = $225. In this case, for every dollar in bonus you are earning, you are losing .25 in rebate money. It is still worth doing the bonuses, obviously, as you are coming out .75 ahead!
Currently, Absolute does not deduct bonuses from gross rake, and has limitless reload bonuses and automated rakeback!
How can I keep up with my rebate stats?
The affiliate programs that we work with provide us with daily stats for each of the players that sign up via our links or bonus codes. Each day we compile these stats and make your individual stats avialable to you via the Your Rebate Stats page.
Before you're able to check your stats there, you'll need to follow the instructions on that page for the poker room at which you'd like to be able to see your daily stats. This usually involves emailing us with the username and/or bonus code that you've used at the poker room.
Are the stats accurate? How can I be sure?
We've tested the stats provided to us by the affiliate programs pretty extensively, and have found them to be very accurate. If you notice a discrepancy however, be sure to let us know.
I've played XXX number of hands already at AP, but don't show any rebate - what gives?
Absolute Poker does not pay out a rebate until it reaches $5. As such, we've setup the program to not show a rebate amount until you've reached $5.00. Generally, this will take you around 350 raked hands to reach this total, and as soon as you do reach that total, you should see your rebate jump to $5.00 or more.
