New Here, got a couple of questions

Firstly let me introduce myself.
Biggles87 and I have some experience of poker. Some online Low limits. Low buy-in Sit & go tournament offline.
I'm looking to start up from nothing so I have a couple of questions, specific to me or not covered in most of the articles.
I am thinking either Poker770 or 888 poker getting the free chips from there. I know that there are more generous starting chips from other ones, but I'd rather save them for if I tilt away chips, or/and have a bad run.
It seems to be atm : 888 = 5 pounds
770 = 7.70 pounds
Seems strange that they are advertising them in pounds rather than dollars. I would guess that they can tell from my cookies that I am UK-based but would they offer this to everyone, or would they offer the equivalent in dollars, or euros, or would they offer the same round number like $5, or $7.70?
Thoughts?
One specific question I have though is any time limits on first deposit bonuses e.g. only within 30 days of creating an account, or are we talking just whenever the first deposit is?
