New player where to start? Posted: 06-10-2010 01:19 AM |
I started playing poker now, got a no deposit bonus for Full Tilt on a page online, but do not know where to start
because I can not play short stack strategy "for the buy in is too high for it ......... cash game're cast aside,so in sng
not know if I play tournament or Double up? what is
best for who is starting?
ecently, interesting trends can be built on the market of online games
including online casinos. interest of visitors Runet gambling online
increased several times compared with the previous year.
casino
To arouse people's interest in the Games take place in a virtual environment, explained very simply.
Affects primarily the unique and "secret" available to the gaming business in Russia.
www.ukash-casinos.org/
This state of the playing field It is no secret that, formally,
from 1 July 2009 the state authorities imposed a ban on the activities of all casinos and real land of Russia.
If you look at the legislation, we can see that from that date, all the numbers of gaming machines and casinos must be transferred to the playing field "special".
"But" these areas are still not there, or for any reason, they are hidden from the public. Very likely, today, people in search of "new track"
you can do after the official closure of these institutions and the favorite. Of course, the casino will complete its work soon, but not an alternative? Enough already!
online-casino
In the regions, a sharp increase in the number of rooms online slot machines.
They went forward regions of Russia, and the government immediately banned the game company.
So to say "cover-shop" for the most famous in this area.
internet casino online
This point of view that is expressed as follows:
"If a man in his soul player - nothing will stop on the way to the game."
Is that near the casino, casino online but there are new technologies play in the network.
the same amount of money, Paris sports gambling. People leave all this? Of course not.
Transfer of entertainment in the area of closure will facilitate the training of actors in new technologies. But
still not all the inhabitants of Russia "staff" with modern technology. There are still people who do not have a computer at home. Some casinos players
and have no idea how to use.online-casino As for the "offline" and "Internet" - is something of science fiction. This means
that soon online casinos do not have access to some former players. Even among casino customers are trustworthy
resulting in his parish 100 thousand dollars, poker online there are those who are far from computers and technology. This is a game for all players,
but unlike most investment "in them seriously. God alone knows whether or not the data is expected to invade citizens' online casino
electronics in the near future. Time will tell!
casino online slots
Games with the state?
What can we expect that the authorities after the closure of all casinos? Intuition tells us that "surprise"
not necessarily. But what? Suffice it to say that it is too early, but in addition to the closure of these schools can not wait
to play a decision to ban all gaming machines on the Internet.
Earlier, at every step possible to fight a slot machines. During a stop in the shop
and in other places very often. Now they are replaced by numbers online slot machines. In fact, the changes
affects the type of gambling, no more. But one thing - to continue the closure and control of these premises,
but quite another - to prohibit or restrict free access to online casinos. This may well happen.
The situation in the United States in 2006, is a good example. Within two years,
now the law of UIGEA, which is not a serious obstacle to the organizers of online gambling for U.S. players.
However, the budget of the country has suffered greatly. Each year, only rough estimates of the Ministry of Finance can not be almost 50 billion
although panic and anger in the U.S. Congress. currently a proposal for a casino license in accordance with, even in the legal field,
which can be manipulated to obtain tax deductions in the budget. This situation exists in the U.S., but no one knows that such events in Russia.
In Russia, has long been illegal in the game with the use of telecommunications.
It remains only to prohibit transactions between participants in Russia and in online casinos.
Nothing good, these measures are not promises. Online casino will try to circumvent the proposed law and its limits yet.
Players in this situation would be much easier. You may not play in the Russian Internet casino - try somewhere else.
Nevertheless, the State can not control everything and everyone, including each player.
One thing for sure. The interest of more and more players online casinos in recent years. Most of them are not in the habit,
passion and thirst, to satisfy the curiosity of a professional. An alternative is to search the online casino games on the Internet.

What is your bankroll?
What is your knowledge of Cash Games?
FR is best to start. But if you don't have experience, you need to learn (and learning by playing sucks in my opinion).
They have the FTP academy - but some of the challenges cost more money, so you need some winning strategy besides working the challenges.
This site needs some videos (or updates?) imho.
SNG's are easier to learn - and make a good starting point for ring games (in fact, the new Pokerstars School for US - that is their first lesson). So, learn that strategy, and then how to multitable. Learn about M, ICM etc. before moving up. |

Actual experience is much more valuable than reading books or online forums. Anything outside of playing the game is supplimentary. There's a lot of value to studying the game outside of playing but you still have to put the time in at the table.
I'm pretty sure Full Tilt offers penny stakes games that you can try. |

Kinda out of context, if you have never played the game before (i.e., if you sign up for rakeback, have to deposit again, AND they make a mistake - having you to REDEPOSIT AGAIN), its a major mgr hit.
Until I found some proper instruction (i.e. some videos, challenges - I never made progress as cash game player vs MTT. Also, with limited US sites, the games are getting tougher (but my blog - even though no updated from march, still gets a lot of traffic).
My best graphs appeared after watching some free Videos on another site. Start from the ground floor up.
Learning by playing is good - IF you have a strategy in mind, know how to analyze your results via a tracking program (such as HEM), AND tweak results with some CURRENT strategy reflecting the evolution of the games.
(But, for someone new - this is a tad overwhelming). |

I think your statement stands alone pretty well Karv. I don't see how it can be taken out of context.
That being said, you're not wrong. It sucks to learn while you play because the majority of players will lose. If you want to be on top of the learning curve then reading articles and watching videos will be a huge benefit. However it's not until you apply what you've read or viewed in a video during play that you'll gain the knowledge. There's a difference between studying the game and applying it. That goes for any profession or hobby. You don't get better until you put to practice what you study. I guess that was the point I wanted to bring out in my previous response.
So while I agree that it can suck to learn when money is at stake it's still necessary to put in the time playing so you can apply what you've learned with supplimentary items like reading articles and viewing instructional videos. |

depositing does not affect mgr
Um, yes it does, if you play at Full Tilt. Any deposit, withdrawal, bonus, using points, buying tickets, etc. affects MGR, affecting net rake, affecting rake back paid.
On Merge, it does not.
(I'm from US, not a lot of sites to choose from).
Stars is kinda obvious. |

this part is correct. The other parts aren't
I've been doing this for a while and bounce money around on many sites. I promise I'm right

So have I.
Clearly stated (and I've seen it in my own stats HERE) - on RakeBackPros:
Net Revenue = (Rake + Juice) - Bonus - Player Added Fees - Fraud - Used Points
Fees: Full Tilt Poker shares the cost incurred by some payment processors for depositing or withdrawing on the site with its Affiliates; while players aren’t charged for these fees, they are deducted from net revenue.
I promise you are incorrect (many folks complain about this in the 2p2 forum).
To be precise, I made an Echeck deposit. This was in February. They had a problem with their payment processor (whom disappeared). This was confirmed as an update glitch with software and processor via TiltPay. The deposit was for $40. I won some money. Kept wondering why it wouldn't clear my account (just copy and paste details, like did on Stars, never an issue -- depositing or withdrawing on that site).
Played a few rush hands, won $13. Then, came back the Echeck had bounced. They took the $40 back (and sent some weird emails about how I took off with the money, while the guys on the phone said my account was okay). Waited for the 10 days to end, sent screen shot of Bank Statement (had already verified ID and withdrawn), then copy and paste info for another Echeck for $40. No more playing that month - no points used, no buy from FTP store.
My stats for that month - -$6.49 Net Revenue, -$1.75 Rakeback. Heaven knows what these guys were charged (because I didn't join 2p2 until Feb., and didn't know about all this then). |

Look, is the truth. Would you like my sign in data?
I don't appreciate your post. You just stop, because it is misinformation. Everyone that reads the rakeback forums on 2p2 knows this. Its not hidden, its no big secret.
AND, if I was GRASPING AT STRAWS, I;m sure Money or Coach (whom just made a payment to my account) - WOULD have jumped in to state I was wrong.
However buddy -here you go:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/51/affiliates-rakeback/official-thread-rakebackpros-discussion-rb-existing-ft-accounts-181213/?highlight=ftp+answers
Also, http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showpost.php?p=6627670&postcount=6
MGR (as explained Monthly Gross Revenue) is rake - deductions. Most sites have some type of deduction. Almost all sites deduct bonuses, some sites deduct payment processing fees (FTP, Cake, AP/UB also for US players), some sites deduct promos (Cake and FTP) and FTP deducts tournament overlays.
If you raked $1200 to clear the $600 bonus and you had $50 in deposit fees then your MGR would be $1200 (rake) - $600 (bonus) - $50 (payment processing fee) which would make your MGR $550. Rakeback is based off of MGR, not rake so you would get 27% of $550 ($148.50) not 27% of $1200.
RakeTracker
I know this provider.
However, instead of calling me a liar, why don't you provide proof (i.e. sites, etc). If you are not on Full Tilt, AP/UB as US player, this doesn't affect you.
PS - I will be more than happy to send Bobo a link here.
So please, you Stop.

However, if all you are doing is TRANSFERRING money, be upfront, and quit treating me like a TROLL. Of course, transfers don't deduct against your MGR.
So lets talk about actual deposits, withdrawals from the sites you play at. (i.e. - echeck, paper check withdrawal through a payment frocessor, etc.)
NOT the personal transfers Coach helps you with. |

So you've never played on Full Tilt then? They charge a fee to deposit money. You only see it if you have a rakeback account. Actually you don't see it but they do deduct for processing deposits. There's no place you can go to to see how much you were charged. It's a magical formula that they don't even share with their affiliates. You can see the total you were charged but not the breakdown of what makes up the total deduction from your rakeback or what percentages they charge for their various fees. |

I read those threads and I LOL'd hard. They'd be much bigger if it were a legitimate issue.
I also got robbed by the tooth fairy... bitch gave me 24 and a half cents instead of a quarter cuz my tooth was chipped
and no... i don't transfer money, and my rakeback payments are always higher than pt3 says they will be. |

you can be a successful poker player without ever reading a single book or taking lessons from anyone, i was completely self taught originally and for years i was winning enough money to be able to call myself a pro player, it wasnt until a few years ago when i decided to try to change my game and it cost me a lot trying to play like someone else instead of playing like bobby, well it was an expensive lesson learned. when i finally realized the problem in that i need to stop listening to other peoples advice i finally became a winning player again. i was self taught to start and i need to stay that way.
you gotta put actual play experience in to get better, the only thing you can really learn about the game when not actually playing is assorted math stuffs and fundamentals like position and hand selection, but to know how to react to each individual situation as it arises, you need experience. there is a ceiling on how much you can learn from someone else, but there is no ceiling on how much you can learn on your own.
to the original poster, if you wanna get better at poker you have to play poker, you wont learn anything from playmoney because nobody takes playmoney seriously, if you cant buyin to the lowest limits i suggest making the minimum deposit if you can afford it and play the lowest possible limits. even at .01/.02 you see a significant jump in skill level from playmoney.

Yeah, don't go by Poker Tracker, that's not accurate. Coach explained once why it won't match but I don't recall the details. |
