| After reading over the hand, it was obviously a super loose table of super sticky players. And in a limit game, where you pretty much always have odds if you have even a halfway decent starting hand and know it will likely be an almost-family pot, I would have called that too. I don't know how you could fold that kind of hand into such a sweet table. The pot odds at every turn were incredible! I'm super surprised fparker doesn't agree. |

Dealt to Me (our hero) [As 8h 6d 2d]
Here is the reason. Omaha is a game of combinations and all 4 cards need to play well together. These cards yield these ways to play, A8, A6, A2, 86, 82, 62. Out of those hands the only premium hands are A2 and maybe A6. There is no chance for a flush of any quality and the 8 doesn't work with anything. Even hitting a **678** straight is not a sure winner. The A2 is the nut low but there is no nut high to go with it. On top of that it looks like you were in early position so you had to call 2 bets just to see if your hand would hold up.
The hand was lucky IMO to scoop. If the 8 was suited to the ace then maybe but position and cards playing together in O8 is important in my hand selection.
