Rolled up and there bigger door card pairs.... Posted: 11-15-2009 04:16 AM |
FTP 50c $1 7 game table.
I start rolled up with 10's I just call the A's raise to hide my hand. But 4th street brings an A to his board I end up calling him down and winning he did not hit trips but still how often can my play be profitable. |

i must say, i hate this spot and dread it anytime im rolled up lower than the raisers door. it comes up pretty dang often in stud8 where playing split low pairs happens frequently, its not as common in stud hi but it does happen often enough to cause swings.
i dont think its all that terrible to just call it down and then raise if you ever boat up or make quads because then you dont give your hand away and maybe just bare aces donks off some money to you, but if you think a player is just raising a bit too often to always have split aces here then get a raise in on 5th street when the betting doubles, nobody will ever fold and if he makes aces up he might just reraise you back.
if you do get 3 bet on any street you just gotta cross your fingers and call it down though because i have seen first hand aces up 3 betting in this spot on a street. |

| You are around 1.25/1 to make a boat with that hand, bet/raise to the max unless you are clearly beat. |
