good fold?

I was playing a $3/6 NL holdem game and was dealt AA in first position at a full table. I open folded. What do you think?

I can't think of any reasons for open folding AA. Don't think you have to push all in right away but at least open up for a 3 or 4 BB amt. What was your reasoning for not even trying to play it? JB

good fold, you were probably only like an 80/20 favorite, you definately have to wait till you get better odds, like no less then 95/5.  excellent play

no matter what the situation you always play AA nothing else matters in poker except for your cards your dealt just ignore everything else

though you probably should fold, likely gonna lose anyway

I'd do the same too if some guy was rushing hard and catching two pairs and inside str8s to take the last 5 or 6 pots with anything he held. Better to wait till he loses a hand or so and his rush subsides. I also imagine there were like 4 or 5 others in the hand and limiting the field is highly unlikely even with a big Preflop raise.

Sometimes you just have to admit defeat and pretend you never got saw them. At best you might split the pot you konw

The thing about AA that most people realize is that its not invincible. Sometimes it loses, and it sucks. Many times, you tilt afterwards. Folding AA will make sure you never lose a big pot with it, and of course, you won't tilt.

I think to get a complete idea of this hand though we have to know what happened first? Was someone allin? Cause i certainly understand not wanting to risk losing a lot of money then. Maybe it was a multiway pot? Sure you're winning, but if theres 5 or 6 hands, anyone could beat you.

You know what they say, "live to fight another day"

I think everybody offered some useful advice. its a good question, open folding aa is usually a good play as long as you have a reason for it. and in this case, the reason is knowing you're beat, which is a mark of a true poker champion. so, yes, it was a good fold.
